Dr. Neil Neugeboren
Dr. Neil Neugeboren grew up in Brooklyn, New York and graduated from Brooklyn College with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He then attended the State University of New York at Buffalo where he earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1971 and a Certificate of Proficiency in Periodontics and a Master of Arts degree in microbiology and immunology in 1974. During his studies in Buffalo, Neil was involved in research and published articles on sterilization and disinfection in dentistry and on immunology in periodontal diseases. From 1974 to 1976 Neil was on active duty with the United States Air Force as Chief of the Department of Periodontics at Edwards Air Force Base in California where he earned the Air Force Commendation Medal for meritorious service.
In 1976 Neil and his family moved to Norwich, Connecticut where he established Norwich Periodontal Associates, a successful periodontal practice in southeastern Connecticut. Neil was highly respected in Connecticut for both his periodontal skills and his caring gentle demeanor with his patients. He was active in both community and dental affairs during his twenty-five years of practice in Connecticut and he is a past president of the New London County Dental Society. Neil is a life member of both the Colorado Dental Association and the American Academy of Periodontology and he has earned a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry.
Neil and his wife relocated to Denver in 2001 to be near their daughter, son, daughter-in-law, and four grandchildren who reside in the area. They see their family often and are very happy they came to Colorado to be with them. Each year, Neil completes continuing education courses in periodontal plastic surgery, dental implants, bone regeneration and other aspects of treatment of periodontal diseases.In addition, Neil has been recognized as one of Denver’s “Top Periodontists” by 5280 Magazine since 2007.
Neil enjoys recreational and competitive water activities, alpine skiing, cycling, trapshooting and sporting clays. He has earned an advanced scuba certification and has participated in the Bolder Boulder and various triathlon events.
